Pueblo – Area Information and Real Estate Insights
Pueblo Colorado is gaining traction among new residents and visitors due to its diverse economy, low cost of daily living and an endless list of activities. The city is still known as “Steel City” as it’s one of the most significant producers of steel in the entire country. While this is a primary driver of industry, on the flip side, is the growing industry of renewable energy. Healthcare and manufacturing are also top employers in the city.
With roughly 111,100 residents, the city is home to a reasonably lower cost of living than other major Colorado cities. This is reflected in salary to expenditure ratios but is also due to the median home price which currently sits at nearly $170,000. The market is considered “hot” and has seen an almost 8% increase in home values over the past year alone.
If you’re the outdoors type, you’ll be thrilled with Pueblo outdoor recreation hotspots such as San Isabel National Forest or Lake Pueblo State Park. Within the city, you can take a walk down the riverwalk area or visit the Pueblo Zoo. Kids will love the museums and ice skating and don’t forget to swing by the Weisbrod Aircraft Museum.
